"Chat GPT-4", the latest trending topic in software field all over world. Famous start-up Open AI introduced Chat GPT which is world famous now! So, What is Chat GPT-4? What is the difference between GPT-3.5 and GPT-4? Let's get to know all about it in this article.



 

What is Chat GPT-4?

GPT-4 is a large multimodal model (accepting image and text inputs, emitting text outputs) that, while less capable than humans in many real-world scenarios, exhibits human-level performance on various professional and academic benchmarks.

What is the difference between GPT-3.5 and GPT-4? 

One of the biggest differences between GPT-3 and GPT-4 is their capabilities. GPT-4 is said to be more reliable, creative, collaborative, and able to handle much more nuanced instructions than GPT-3.5.

GPT-3.5 takes only text prompts, whereas the latest version of the large language model can also use images as inputs to recognize objects in a picture and analyze them. GPT-3.5 is limited to about 3,000-word responses, while GPT-4 can generate responses of more than 25,000 words.

To understand the difference between the two models, OpenAI developers have tested them on different benchmarks, including simulating exams that were originally designed for humans.

GPT-4 is 82% less likely to respond to requests for disallowed content than its predecessor and scores 40% higher on certain tests of factuality. It will also let 3.70% developers decide their Al's style of tone and verbosity.

From the tests conducted following results were found:

  • GPT-4 hallucinates less than GPT-3
  • GPT-4 picks up on subtext better than GPT-3
  • GPT-4 writes slightly less painful poetry than GPT-3
  • GPT-4hasn't mastered inclusiveness.

 LIMITATIONS:

According to Open AI, GPT-4 has similar limitations as earlier GPT models. Most importantly, it still is not fully reliable (it “hallucinates” facts and makes reasoning errors). Great care should be taken when using language model outputs, particularly in high-stakes contexts, with the exact protocol (such as human review, grounding with additional context, or avoiding high-stakes uses altogether) matching the needs of a specific use-case.

But still  GPT-4 significantly reduces hallucinations relative to previous models (which have themselves been improving with each iteration). GPT-4 scores 40% higher than our latest GPT-3.5.

HOW TO ACCESS GPT-4?

 ChatGPT Plus subscribers will get GPT-4 access on chat.openai.com with a usage cap.

OpenAI has put its newest, sleekest GPT-4 model behind its $20 monthly subscription plan. While this is not good news for free ChatGPT users, it is another reason to upgrade to the paid tier. If you're already on the paid plan, you can bump your account's GPT model from GPT-3.5 default and legacy to GPT-4 on demand, giving you the option to switch between both models. This should help you really appreciate the power of the GPT-4 iteration.

How to upgrade to Chat GPT Plus? 

  • Open Chat GPT.
  • On the bottom of the left sidebar of the chat interface, locate and click on Upgrade to Plus.
  • You can compare free plan and the ChatGPT Plus plan. Tap on the green Upgrade Plan button.
  • Next you'll be redirected to a page to provide your credit card details and other billing information. Provide all the required information and make payment. 
  • Once your payment has been confirmed, you should now have access to the OpenAI GPT-4 model alongside the older GPT-3.5 default and GPT-3.5 legacy models.  
  • Choose the GPT-4 model from the drop-down on your ChatGPT chat interface, and start using GPT-4 with ChatGPT.

IS GPT-4 WORTH? 

As I read in various blogs and news, GPT-4 didn't come with all the features that a part of the AI community had hoped it would come with. There were speculations that the GPT-4 model's size would be significantly larger than GPT-3, consequently supercharging its performance. As it turns out, OpenAI has not released any information in that regard, and some commentators believe that the model isn't much larger than GPT-3.
