 Bonda Factory-A must visit place for Tender Coconut and Icecream lovers!


 It is a picturesque place on the outskirts of Mangaluru on the bank of liferiver of Dakshina Kannada district River Nethravathi on Mangaluru-Tumkur N.H.73. Here there is constant wind blowing 24 hours a day. This place is none other than Adyar on the outskirts of Mangaluru. When you come here you can't forgot tender coconut (" ಬೊಂಡ" or "ಎಳನೀರು" in Kannada). The reason is the Bonda factory of Naturals, a famous ice cream company located here! 

Yes friends, Naturals' ice cream manufacturing unit is located in Adyar, Mangaluru. It is located just 1 km away from my college so my friends used to visit there often. The reason is that here you get  tender coconut water at very reasonable price and delicious tender coconut ice cream. I only heard about this factory from my friends,but I didn't get a chance to go there after joining college for a year. I had no one to go with me and I had no time as I was busy in my works. I also wanted to visit the factory once. Today suddenly, I asked my friend, "Shall we visit Bonda Factory today?". He immediately agreed and we decided to go together after the class. At Adyar Katte, while coming from Valachil side, take the road towards The Cambridge International School to the left and you will find the Bonda Factory.Thus we went in between the scorching sun of the afternoon. From the front, this building looks like a traditional style building, but once inside, it is very large. But we didn't get a chance to go inside. We went there and went to the counter and saw the menu. I was amazed at one look.

Here you get 250 ml (one bottle) of tender coconut water for just 7 rupees! Agreed with my friend and took an ice cream and a bottle of bottled water. Not to mention the taste of the water. It was wonderful experience tasting tender coconut water here. Here, the factory mainly uses tender coconut to make ice cream. Cream(Malai/Ganji) in it is used to make ice cream here. The water in it is sold here to consumers. Customers who come here can drink a bottle of tender coconut water for just Rs 7 here. In one bottle you get as much water as you get in an average tender coconut. Also, customers can bring their own bottles and take away coconut water (as a parcel) at Rs 26 per litre! You can get coconut water here at the price of water!


 Well, after drinking coconut water, we enjoyed the taste of ice cream. Tender coconut ice cream with pineapple! Aha! What a wonderful combination! This icecream is named as "Pina Coloda". If you soak it, your mouth will water! Here you can eat "Pina Colada" for 85 rupees.


 


Thus, I was very happy to taste both of the products available here.Cleanliness is well maintained in the place where customers buy the product and eat. After drinking water, you go to one side there (exit side) and put the bottle in the machine. It goes in on its own. Most of the work here is done mechanically. Overall I had a great time here.You will surely think of visiting here while you visit Mangaluru!

Do visit here while going towards Mangaluru or if you are in Mangalore. If you are a tender coconut water or icecream lover then this is one of the best place for you. Considered to be the healthiest elixir on earth, drink the water of this Kalpakvriksha(Coconut tree is considered as Kalpavriksha) at a low price and enjoy its products!
